The trademark application filed by Luis Caballero (Spanish
liquor company) in class 33 was rejected by patent office to
avoid unlawful transit of goods through the border which is in
contradiction of public interest. Through Chamber of Patent
Disputes the applicant appealed mentioning the goods are
Legal dispute on widely in used and sold in shops and internet. Also, the
trademark in Russia applicant submitted documents showing that alcoholic
beverage labelled with the claimed designation has already
been on sale in the Russian Federation. Taking all this claims,
Chamber of Patent Disputes concluded that registration of
the claimed designation would not contradict public
interest.
While a big group of scientists have invested a huge amount
of time and money to take a picture of the unusually famous
Controversy on black- “black-hole”, a Chinese online image provider claims
hole image copyright over the photo of the black hole by flashing it on
their website with their logo. Following actions from national
authority the company's website has been closed.
Qualcomm has been challenged by US Federal Trade
Commission for unlawful maintenance of a monopoly in its
sales and licensing of semiconductor devices and similar
products. FTC argued Qualcomm refuses to license cellular
Qualcomm’s licensing SEPs to its competitors, in violation of FRAND (fair, reasonable

terms. With arguments and defends from both the sides the
decision is yet to be made. A court decision against
Qualcomm could indirectly benefit Apple and others.
